ACTG Network
The AVRC is a clinical research site in the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) Network, an international network of HIV/AIDS research sites. The AVRC consistently ranks as the highest-enrolling ACTG site in the U.S. and invites members of the community to participate in one of our clinical trials.
The mission of the ACTG Network is:
To develop and conduct scientifically rigorous translational research and clinical trials to:
- investigate the viral and immune pathogenesis of HIV-1 infection and its complications;
- evaluate novel drugs and strategies for treating HIV-1 infection;
- evaluate interventions and strategies to treat and prevent HIV-related co-infections and co-morbidity, and;
- publish and disseminate results to improve care, and reduce or eliminate morbidity and mortality associated with HIV-1 infection and its complications.
Community members interested in participating in an ACTG study should contact the Screening Coordinator at 619-543-3196.
