Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is a FDA-approved, once-daily medication called Truvada® that may help reduce the risk of HIV infection. The AVRC advocates the use of PrEP as a tool for HIV prevention, in addition to safer sex practices. We proudly participate in PrEP research to better understand how PrEP can be effectively used to help prevent HIV infection.

Learn more about PrEP, educational resources and opportunities to access PrEP through research study participation at or call (619) 543-8080 and ask to speak to our PrEP coordinator.
